As we know that “close paint”and “open paint” are used in making furniture finishing commonly.what is the difference between these two kinds of paint?here are the tips for a good understanding for them.

1. ”open paint”

Open paint is a kind of nitrocellulose lacquer in dominant ,the wood grain texture would be preserved and having a strong texture touching after the open paint has been painting.the process are polish-base lacquer-polish-base colored-second time base lacquer-polish-surface colored-surface lacquer,the wood species which with big pipe holes on cross section and dark color are suitable for making this paint,such as oak ,ash wood.

Advantage:it makes the wood grain texture obviously and preserved the natural wood texture and with a concave and convex touching.moreover it would makes you  have a feeling of close to the nature.

Disadvantage:firstly,it’s under a tough process ,maybe have to process for 7or 8 times,even up to 10 times,second,it’s not all kinds of wood are suitable for this paint but only the kind of wood with big pipe holes.

2. “close paint”

Close paint is a kind of polyester paint in dominant,it makes the wood pipe holes and grain texture are sealed.the wood surface is smooth like a mirror,it’s suitable for all kinds of wood,generally speaking,in order to achieve the best effect the kind of wood with small pipe holes and light color on cross section are the better choice.such as birch,alder,cherry wood.

Advantage:smooth and shinning on surface,dirty-resistant,easy clean maintain,water proof and more durable.

Disadvantage:it’s not good at environmental protection,the wood grain texture covered,obvious in scratch.
